PhD Students and Research Fellows
Hola!! it’s team Cornea. We are an interdisciplinary team of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology undergraduate students of SIT. We joined Bio-INvENT Lab to work on "nanoparticle-based prophylactic drug delivery to corneal endothelium".
We are Team CLeONs or Contact Lens-based Oxygen Nanosensors. We joined Bio-INvENT as undergraduate research interns in the summer of 2018. Since then, we are working on developing contact lens-coated oxygen sensors for pO2 sensing in the tear film. We are also the winners of the India Innovation Growth Programme 2.0 University Challenge Award 2019 for our innovation.
We are Team iONs (Intracellular Oxygen Nanosensors)!! Currently studying BE Chemical Engineering at SIT Tumkur. We joined Bio-INvENT in the summer of 2018 as undergraduate research interns. Since then, we are working on developing contact lens-coated oxygen sensors for pO2 sensing in the tear film. Currently, we are also working on Intracellular oxygen sensing in the ocular surface.
We are Team FECD!! Currently studying BE Biotechnology (𝐕 Semester) at SIT Tumkur. We joined Bio-INvENT Lab in 2020 as undergraduate research interns. We are working on understanding signalling pathways in Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy (FECD), a slow progressive disorder of the corneal endothelial layer which disrupts corneal transparency.
Tejaswini A Deshpande: I am a recipient of the prestigious Indian Academies Summer Research Fellowhip 2019. As the part of the fellowship, I have worked on synthesis of Janus NPs for the reduction reaction of p-nitrophenol to p-aminophenol using cellulose as the support at NIT Warangal. Apart from research, I take pleasure in cooking and street photography.
We are Team BlinC !! We are an interdisciplinary team combining the might of both Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering to come up with a novel way of drug delivery in the eye through transscleral iontophoresis using the blinking action of the eye!!
Debjyoti Roy: I always had a knack for research, and I got an opportunity to pursue my interest while working in the Bio-INvENT Lab as a research intern for the last two years on several projects. One of my projects got selected in the pre-final round of National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC) 2019, out of more than 2500+ applicants all over India. I’m a FIDE rated Chess player and my other interests include nature photography, trekking, learning new skills and, I’m a bibliophile, too!
Vinayak S Anadinni: Being a part of the Bio-INvENT Lab and having an opportunity to work in research projects involving drug delivery systems, has enhanced my knowledge and helped me explore more as I always had a keen interest in research. Apart from studies, I often engage myself in photography and sketching.
Hi! We are Team PAW (Plasma-activated Water). We are a group of BE Biotechnology students working on harnessing the wonders of Plasma-Activated Water for Agricultural and Biomedical applications.

Sheetal S Gangolli: Hello! I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in B.E Biotechnology in SIT Tumkur. Nature has never failed to astonish me and so is my interest towards research field. I have entered into a different dimension by joining Bio-INvENT Lab, guided by Dr. Sudhir Ranganath. Hope to unveil the mysteries awaiting in this field of biotechnology! Apart from this, I love bicycling and grooving to music.
Hruthi M N: Hello! I’m Hruthi (BE Biotechnology student). I joined Bio-INvENT lab in my second year as I’m interested in research. I heard about the successful research projects in this lab. So, I’m excited to work under the guidance of Sudhir Sir. I’m interested in agricultural research and use biotechnology concepts to solve unmet needs in agriculture.
